Protect the entire end-to-end infrastructure without compromising performance
Cyberoam Firewall is available as a Next-Generation Firewall and UTM firewall.
Firewall
A firewall is a network security device. It monitors incoming and outgoing network traffic and decides whether to allow or block specific traffic based on a defined set of security rules.
Firewall is a software program that prevents unauthorized access to or from a private network. It isolates your computer from the Internet using a “wall of code” that inspects each individual “packet” of data as it arrives at either side of the firewall — inbound to or outbound from all network connected device — to determine whether it should be allowed to pass or be blocked.
VPN
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows you to create a secure connection to another network over the Internet. VPNs essentially forward your network traffic to the remote network, which is where the benefits – like accessing local network resources remotely and bypassing Internet censorship – all come from. Most operating systems have integrated VPN support.
Most of the firewalls have bulit-in support for VPN. Most widly used VPN protocols in firewalls are IPSec VPN,SSL VPN, L2TP and PPTP.
Anti-Spam
Spam, malicious email and virus attacks are becoming ever more sophisticated. The Anti-Spam software in firewalls can scans email and incoming files using thier powerful virus scanning technology. Most of the firewall with Anti-Spam support connects to their security cloud repositories to upate against the latest email-borne threats. The firewall also check the incoming and outgoing trafic through it to prevent spam.
Bandwidth Management
Firwall Bandwidth Management can prioritizes business-critical applications and users for bandwidth allocation. Prioritization also can be applied based on source, destination, user, service, service group.
It also supports the below features.
Bandwidth allocation based on website categories: webmail, social media, gaming, entertainment etc.
Upload, download limits
Bandwidth scheduling by time of the day
Committed bandwidth to critical users at all times
Web Filtering
A web filter firewall is basically a software program that governs the data packets which are sent and received by your computer. Web or URL filtering limits access by comparing web traffic against a database to prevent employees from accessing unproductive, harmful sites such as phishing pages. Based on the firewall properties it can blocks third-party proxy and tunnelling software, Blocks malware, phishing, pharming URLs.
Web Application Firewall
Web Application Firewall is deployed to intercept the traffic to and from the web servers to provide an added layer of security against attacks before they can reach the web applications. Web Application Firewall helps web applications by filtering and monitoring HTTP traffic between a web application and the Internet. Web Application Firewall ensures the sanctity of web applications in response to server requests, protecting them against web application attacks. Cyberoam Web Application Firewall looks at every request and response within the HTTP/HTTPS/Web Service layers. It is effective at repelling attacks from a wide range of commercial and open-source automated vulnerability scanners (e.g. Nessus, WebInspect), as well as hand-crafted attacks.
Application Visibility & Control
AVC enables the ability to see what applications are being used on your network, including peer-to-peer applications, who is using them, how much bandwidth they are consuming, and the ability to take action to ensure that your bandwidth is being used in the way that you intended.
Application visibility and control functionality protects critical high-speed networks against application-level threats.
